DESCRIPTION

PCB-20 is a comprehensive antipyretic, analgesic, and stress-relief formulation specifically designed for poultry. This multi-component product combines paracetamol for fever reduction and pain relief with vitamins and electrolytes to support recovery during disease challenges, heat stress, and vaccination periods .

Paracetamol (acetaminophen) is a centrally acting analgesic and antipyretic that reduces fever by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the hypothalamus . Vitamins E and C are potent antioxidants that protect cells from oxidative stress, support immune function, and aid in recovery . Sodium bicarbonate and potassium carbonate are essential electrolytes that help maintain acid-base balance, prevent dehydration, and support overall metabolic function during periods of stress .

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Paracetamol:

DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION

Administration Guidelines:

• Calculate total daily water consumption based on flock size, age, and environmental temperature
• Dissolve the required amount of PCB-20 in a small volume of water, then add to the main drinking water tank
• For use in automatic water proportioners, prepare stock solution according to manufacturer specifications
• Prepare fresh medicated water daily; discard any unused solution after 24 hours
• During heat stress, administer continuously for the duration of the hot period
• When used with antibiotics, administer concurrently for supportive care

CONTRAINDICATIONS & PRECAUTIONS

• Hypersensitivity: Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to paracetamol or any component
• Liver and kidney dysfunction: Use with caution in animals with impaired hepatic or renal function; high doses of paracetamol may cause hepatotoxicity
• Electrolyte balance: Do not exceed recommended dosage, as excessive electrolyte supplementation may cause imbalances
