DESCRIPTION
ATI-ZONE is a potent broad-spectrum anthelmintic oral suspension containing three complementary active ingredients: Albendazole, Triclabendazole, and Ivermectin. This unique triple-combination formulation provides comprehensive control against a wide range of internal and external parasites in livestock [citation:5][citation:9].
Albendazole is a benzimidazole anthelmintic with activity against gastrointestinal roundworms (nematodes), lungworms, and tapeworms (cestodes). It acts by binding to β-tubulin in parasitic cells, inhibiting microtubule polymerization. This disruption leads to impaired glucose uptake, depletion of glycogen stores, and eventual parasite death. Albendazole is effective against both adult and larval stages of susceptible nematodes and also exhibits ovicidal (egg-killing) activity [citation:2][citation:5].
Triclabendazole is a halogenated benzimidazole compound specifically developed for the treatment of liver fluke (Fasciola hepatica) infections. Unlike other flukicides, triclabendazole demonstrates exceptional efficacy against all stages of liver fluke development, including early immature, late immature, and adult flukes. It is rapidly metabolized to its active metabolite, triclabendazole sulfoxide, which is responsible for its potent fasciolicidal activity [citation:2][citation:5][citation:6].
Ivermectin is a macrocyclic lactone (avermectin class) with broad-spectrum activity against both internal and external parasites. It acts by stimulating the release and binding of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) at nerve endings, causing an influx of chloride ions into nerve and muscle cells. This leads to hyperpolarization and paralysis of the neuromuscular systems of susceptible parasites. Ivermectin is effective against gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworms, and various arthropods including lice, mites, and ticks. At therapeutic doses, ivermectin does not readily cross the blood-brain barrier in mammals [citation:2][citation:5].
The synergistic combination of these three anthelmintics provides a complete solution for parasite control, covering nematodes, cestodes, trematodes (liver fluke), and ectoparasites in a single treatment [citation:5][citation:9].

DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION
For oral administration only. Shake the container well before use. Use a properly calibrated drenching gun or dosing syringe for accurate administration. Body weight should be determined as accurately as possible to ensure proper dosage [citation:5][citation:9].
Recommended Dosage:
- Cattle: 1 ml per 5 kg body weight (equivalent to 2 mg albendazole, 2.4 mg triclabendazole, and 0.04 mg ivermectin per kg)
- Sheep & Goats: 1 ml per 5 kg body weight (equivalent to 2 mg albendazole, 2.4 mg triclabendazole, and 0.04 mg ivermectin per kg) [citation:5][citation:9]
Dosage Table:
| Body Weight (kg) | Dosage (ml) |
|---|
| 10 kg | 2 ml |
| 20 kg | 4 ml |
| 30 kg | 6 ml |
| 40 kg | 8 ml |
| 50 kg | 10 ml |
| 60 kg | 12 ml |
| 70 kg | 14 ml |
| 80 kg | 16 ml |
| 90 kg | 18 ml |
| 100 kg | 20 ml |
Administration Guidelines:
- Administer as a single oral dose using a drenching gun
- Shake the bottle thoroughly before each use to ensure uniform suspension of active ingredients
- For large herds, calibrate dosing equipment regularly to ensure accuracy
- Treat all animals in the herd/flock to prevent reinfestation cycles
- For severe infections or in areas with known resistance, veterinary advice should be sought
WITHDRAWAL PERIODS
- Cattle (Meat): 28 days [citation:5][citation:9]
- Sheep & Goats (Meat): 28 days [citation:5][citation:9]
- Milk (Cattle, Sheep, Goats): Do not use in lactating animals producing milk for human consumption — Triclabendazole requires 60 days milk withdrawal [citation:3][citation:7]
- Do not use in dairy females 28 days before parturition [citation:5][citation:9]
PRECAUTIONS & CONTRAINDICATIONS
- Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to benzimidazoles (albendazole, triclabendazole) or macrocyclic lactones (ivermectin)
- Do not use in animals with severe hepatic or renal impairment
- Do not use in debilitated or malnourished animals
- Resistance Warning: Frequent and repeated use of benzimidazole anthelmintics may lead to resistance. Triclabendazole resistance has been reported in liver fluke populations due to intensive use [citation:2][citation:6]. Ivermectin resistance is also emerging in some nematode populations. Implement strategic deworming programs with veterinary guidance [citation:2].
- Drug Interactions: No significant drug interactions have been reported between these three agents [citation:8]. However, avoid concurrent use with other anthelmintics unless under veterinary supervision.
- Operator Safety: Avoid direct contact with skin. Wear protective gloves during administration. Wash hands thoroughly after use. Do not eat, drink, or smoke while handling this product. If accidental ingestion occurs, seek medical advice immediately. Pregnant women should avoid handling this product.
- Environmental Precautions: Do not contaminate water sources with unused product. Ivermectin is highly toxic to aquatic organisms and dung beetles. Dispose of empty containers responsibly [citation:5][citation:9].
- Side Effects: At recommended doses, all components are well tolerated. Rarely, transient salivation or muzzle foam may be observed and resolves spontaneously. In cases of overdosage, neurological signs (ataxia, depression) may occur.
- Store in a cool, dry place below 25-30°C, protected from light. Do not freeze [citation:5][citation:9].
- Keep out of reach of children.
