DESCRIPTION

DI-SC ZONE is a potent broad-spectrum anthelmintic oral suspension combining Oxyclozanide and Oxfendazole with added Cobalt and Selenium trace elements. This unique flukicide + dewormer combination provides comprehensive parasite control covering liver flukes, gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworms, and tapeworms in a single treatment, while simultaneously addressing trace mineral deficiencies that commonly affect livestock productivity

Oxyclozanide (Flukicide): Oxyclozanide is a salicylanilide anthelmintic specifically used for the treatment and control of fascioliasis (liver fluke infection) in ruminants . It acts by uncoupling oxidative phosphorylation in the mitochondria of flukes, disrupting their energy metabolism (ATP synthesis) and leading to parasite death . Oxyclozanide is primarily effective against adult liver flukes present in the bile ducts .

Oxfendazole (Dewormer): Oxfendazole is a benzimidazole anthelmintic with broad-spectrum activity against gastrointestinal roundworms (nematodes), lungworms, and tapeworms (cestodes). It acts by binding to β-tubulin in parasitic cells, inhibiting microtubule polymerization, which disrupts nutrient absorption and energy metabolism, leading to starvation and death . Oxfendazole is effective against both adult and developing immature stages, and also exhibits ovicidal (egg-killing) activity .

Synergistic Combination: Research has demonstrated that the combination of Oxyclozanide and Oxfendazole shows significantly high efficacy against mixed parasitic infections. A study evaluating anthelmintic treatments against natural Fasciola infection in sheep reported that the combination therapy of oxyclozanide and oxfendazole achieved the highest efficacy (97.50%) compared to single-drug treatments . Another study in goats reported that the combination of Oxyclozanide + Oxfendazole + Cobalt + Selenium achieved efficacy of 99.3% against gastrointestinal nematodes .

Cobalt and Selenium (Trace Elements): Cobalt is essential for rumen microbes to synthesize vitamin B12, which is critical for energy metabolism, appetite regulation, and red blood cell production . Selenium acts as a powerful antioxidant, working synergistically with vitamin E to support immune function, fertility, and muscle development . Research has shown that inclusion of cobalt and selenium supplements in anthelmintic preparations prevents weight loss, restores blood glutathione peroxidase activities (selenium status), and increases serum vitamin B12 levels (cobalt status) in deficient animals .

INDICATIONS
DI-SC ZONE is indicated for the treatment and control of the following parasitic infections in livestock:

Liver Flukes (Trematodes):

• Fasciola hepatica (adult liver fluke)
• Fasciola gigantica (adult giant liver fluke)

Gastrointestinal Roundworms (Nematodes):

• Haemonchus spp. (barber's pole worm)

• Nematodirus spp. (thread-necked intestinal worm)

Lungworms:

DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION

For oral administration only. Shake the container well before use. Use a properly calibrated drenching gun or dosing syringe for accurate administration. Body weight should be determined as accurately as possible to ensure proper dosage .

PRECAUTIONS & CONTRAINDICATIONS

• Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to oxyclozanide, oxfendazole, or other benzimidazole/salicylanilide anthelmintics
• Do not use in pregnant animals during the first trimester unless absolutely necessary, as benzimidazoles may have teratogenic effects
• Do not use in debilitated or malnourished animals
• Drug Interactions: Do not administer simultaneously with bromsalan derivatives (e.g., dibromsalan, tribromsalan), as this combination has been reported to cause abortions in cattle and death in sheep
• Resistance Warning: Frequent and repeated use of anthelmintics may lead to resistance. Implement strategic deworming programs with veterinary guidance. Combination therapy such as this product helps manage resistance development
• Side Effects: Animals may show slight softening of the faeces; this is transient and resolves spontaneously
• Operator Safety: Avoid direct contact with skin. Wear protective gloves during administration. Wash hands thoroughly after use. Do not eat, drink, or smoke while handling this product. If accidental ingestion occurs, seek medical advice immediately
• Environmental Precautions: Oxyclozanide is classified as a marine pollutant . Do not contaminate ponds, waterways, or ditches with the product or used containers
• Store in a cool, dry place below 25-30°C, protected from light. Do not freeze
• Keep out of reach of children.
