DESCRIPTION

OPTIMIZE-10 is a high-concentration live yeast probiotic containing Saccharomyces cerevisiae, a well-researched probiotic strain widely used as a feed additive in livestock and poultry production

Mechanism of Action in Ruminants: Live yeasts are considered allochthonous (non-native) microorganisms in the rumen environment, but when supplemented daily, they can survive and interact with native microbial populations

The positive effects of yeast cells have been demonstrated on:

• Growth and activity of fiber-degrading bacteria and fungi
• Stabilization of rumen pH and prevention of lactate accumulation
• Ruminal microbial colonization and fermentative processes

The primary modes of action identified are the supply of growth factors to rumen microorganisms, oxygen scavenging to create favorable conditions for anaerobic communities, and nutritional competition with native ruminal species

Mechanism of Action in Poultry: Saccharomyces cerevisiae has gained significant attention as a viable alternative to antibiotic growth promoters (AGPs) in poultry nutrition

The yeast cell wall contains β-glucans and mannan-oligosaccharides (MOS) as its main components, which contribute to prebiotic effects

• For best results, feed continuously during periods of stress, transition, or high production demand
• Higher inclusion rates may be used during periods of heat stress, disease challenge, or when recovering from illness
• For young animals, supplementation during the pre-weaning period supports early gut and rumen development
• Live yeast is heat-sensitive; avoid exposure to high temperatures during feed processing (>80°C)
